The brand, “Supergoop!” is partnering with Maria Sharapova, but the international tennis star is doing more than just promoting the brand – she has signed on as co-owner.

The brand’s other co-owner is its founder and CEO Holly Thaggard. Thaggard says she welcomes Sharapova to the Supergoop! team, and commented:

“To date, there has not been a broad reaching voice for UV education and we’ve finally found our megaphone in Maria…She is the ideal choice to own and champion this position and we value her as our ambassador of ‘suncare as skincare’.”

According to the brand, the products are the first and only multi-functional skincare line with a foundation in UV protection and sun safety that are distributed in prestige channels. Its mission is to elevate skin cancer awareness alongside the many skincare and beauty benefits attributed to applying UV protection every single day.

Sharapova’s decision to personally invest in the brand supports her interest in spreading a message of sun-safety. As the brand’s ambassador, she will promote the benefits of sun safety while connecting with fans and consumers around the world through social media.
